Languages supported

Post by VonTrupka777 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 11:53 pm

I just wanted to know if there is a chance that in the near future TTW will be available in other languages? I really don't know why is it such a big problem

It is such a big problem because it is not a matter of drag and drop, the rebuilt ESMs need to be translated, code needs to written for the installer to be able to handle multiple languages. If it was easy, someone else would have done it by now.

This is being worked on and Jax has made many break troughs in this area. The problem is that each version is slightly different the .esm's the .bsa's for some reason are different. Even in the English version we are finding differences in the .bsa's depending on how and where you got your games. (I'm not even talking about pirate versions I'm talking about if you got the game via GFWL, Direct to Drive (D2D),  steam, Retail Disk requiring GFWL, Retail disk requiring steam, GOTY, Ultimate Edition, Purchased DLC's as they were released, and so on!) This is why you see bug reports saying "The Pitt, Zeta, .bsa failed to patch".

Multi Lingual support is of a big concern to the team and we fully intend on having it in the near future but being that the majority of the team are English only speakers and don't know any other language we will have to rely on the community a bit to help translate the TTW.esm into other languages. (We wouldn't want to just use Google Translate and show disrespect to your language buy using an incorrect translation.)

I do apologize that you will have to wait for a version that works with your game but you shouldn't blame us you should blame Beth and Obsidian or even your Government (Germanys censorship laws!) for the differences in files. We are doing our best to bring TTW to everyone but it will take time.
