As someone who lives in Pittsburgh, seeing iconic buildings and locations like PPG Place and the UPMC building and the incline but never being able to get to them was extremely frustrating.

Would love to see this. But my concern is that this is most likely a majorproject, of youwant todoit right, so i think it would be too much work for just 1 person. Pherhapse you could do it  with a team?

Well I am slowly using GECK and learning the controls, but I am still miles from being able to build and design interiors. But who knows maybe I will be able to do it in the future, then I would love helping with this.

We need talented modders

We need talented modders around here. There's alot of really good requests/ Ideas and anyone who can pull it off is tied up with something else/ not interested. No way every request gets done as it is now...

My project Dash is on Kickstarter!

Not to shoot this idea down, but quite a few things have to materialize before anyone would begin to start building the world - which is really just a shell - everything has to be cluttered and navmeshed.

What would you want the player to do in these areas? What are the gameplay goals and points of interest?

There are also some technical considerations which limit the extent to which these areas may be explorable without sacrificing visual quality. I don't know how large the steel mill worldspace is. Given the size of the explorable area in the vanilla game, and the corresponding size of the background or landscape which surrounds this, how much larger do you think the worldspace would have to be to provide a large enough, convincing-enough backdrop for an expanded area?

You wouldn't be building just throughout the existing area of the steel mill. You would also be building extensively beyond this to make everything feel contained in the larger world. Importing a new heightmap is probably out of the question.

It's a lot of work. If the idea is to have a greater number of explorable buildings or interiors in The Pitt, there are plenty of existing, accessible buildings in Uptown and Downtown which could be made into dungeons. I would start there instead of trying to modify the existing worldspace with no clear idea of what the player is going to be doing there or how large the space is going to be.
