Black Textures on terrain

Post by LollardHeretic » Fri Feb 23, 2018 8:23 am

Hi There,

I have noticed there are splotches of black (maybe missing) textures all around the wasteland while in the Capital Wasteland. Is this normal?

I've looked around for a solution online but I can't seem find anyone who has this issue.

I am using NMC textures (for TTW) and Poco Bueno Texture Pack. Also have Mothership Zeta DLC Retextured installed.

See the attached screenshots.

Computer Specs:

Intel i7 7700K @ 4.6Ghz

16GB DDR4 RAM @ 3000mhz

Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Using FOMM 0.14.14.

Using Steam copy of Fallout 3: GOYE and Fallout NV with all DLCs

Thanks,

WMX PN patch is not compatible, should remove it.

As for the texture problem, you may be running out of texture memory. I don't recall anyone reporting any similar issues, perhaps someone else knows.

I got black textures or very blurred low-res textures when I ran out of video ram before I got my 1050Ti. Using ENB to move the textures into another process "fixed" that issue. Especially considering he's using HD texture replacers, he probably should be using ENB unless he has a 4G or better card.

Hi guys,

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies. I have a GTX 1070 with 8GB VRAM.

I disabled WMX PN (Project Nevada - WMX.esp) and the issue remains. (not that I thought it would make a difference)

It looks like it could be a lighting issue as I can see the textures when I look closely at the black spots.

Any ideas? I haven't installed any lighting mods.

Thanks

Or a conflict. I had a texture conflict at the underpass by Primm. Try to get an ID for whatever shows the problem.

Hey guys,

Hey guys,

I haven't done that before. Is there a guide I can follow that shows me what I need to do to find the ID?

Is it just opening the console and clicking on whatever is in front of me?

Sorry quite new to modding for Fallout.

Well you can't get a ref for the ground because it's not a ref... so I'm not sure what jlf was suggesting there.

It might be that ojo or NMC added a texture for the burnt ground one that is missing in vanilla and that is what you are seeing.

The texture splits in places

Post by LollardHeretic » Sun Feb 25, 2018 3:01 am

The texture splits in places in a perfect line. I don't think this would be intentional. See screenshot.

This is not a major issue but I'd like to fix it if I can. Might just live with it.

EDIT: I reinstalled NMC and Poco Bueno and the issue has been resolved. Thanks for your help guys! :)

Well, in my case, the issue with the underpass was related to a new combined object placed at the underpass, so it did have an ID. I don't think that's your problem from looking at the pic.
