So I have tried all of the standard fixes for issues. 4gb patcher, NVAC, NVSR, NVSE though I haven't gotten into much of the config files yet besides trying to set an initial heap size. I also have my load order sorted with LOOT and looked over my mods several times to see if there's any obvious conflicts but I can't find anything. Not sure where to go from here or if anybody has had similar issues. My Fallout 3 is the GOTY edition from Steam and my FNV is also on Steam

So my actual issue is that after loading a file and playing for 15-20 minutes or so, both my Pipboy and hotkeys begin to respond extremely slowly or not at all. My pipboy can take up to 30 seconds to come up with the game freezing until then. No actual drop in frames on either side of the glitch but the freeze happens everytime. The hotkey switching between weapons happens concurrently with the pipboy issue and usually results in complete inability to switch weapons outside of the pipboy. I've tried various ways to isolate the issue's cause like staying in an exterior cell until it occurs and entering and exiting interior cells to see if that triggers it but no luck at all. Hope somebody can help and thanks!

edit: Format got messed up

Damn. I had a similar problem

Damn. I had a similar problem awhile back and now I can't remember how I fixed it. Here, try this-

- After installing NVSE, go under \Data\NVSE and edit nvse_config.ini (or create it if you don't have it) with the following values:

[Memory]

DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=384

scrapHeapSizeMB=128

- Inside the game's ini, set these 2 values:

iNumHWThreads=2

bUseThreadedAI=1

Thanks for the help! I was able to implement every change but the iNumHWThreads=2 line as I couldn't find a line like that anywhere in the fallout.ini file. Should I create a new line with that value somewhere?

That seems to have alleviated the issue somewhat as I was able get about a half hour of uninterrupted play in before I got an Out of Memory warning box. I was having Out of Memory warning boxes a while ago but that stopped occurring when I reinstalled NVSE, NVAC, NVSR, and the 4 gig patcher. I'm guessing that maybe all these issues stem from the same underlying problem that I just kind of slowed down but didn't stop. Think maybe it's a file corruption issue?

The last line to change in

Post by Nostalgia » Fri Jan 05, 2018 3:39 pm

That line to change in your ini. should be in there I thought. If not then I would add it maybe right above or below the other line and see. Sorry I'm not sure, I'm going off someone else's post here. You might also try this. FNV is notorious for poor memory management, so you might think about playing without a visual enhancement or two and see how it responds.
