The weirdest bug I have ever seen

Hello


 


I don't even know what is going on, but it seems that after coming back to the capital wasteland from point lookout, when I exit the riverboat landing, archive invalidation stops working. All my modded in content that needs it, like body replacers, outfits, weapons ect turn into red triangles, menu icons turn into giant purple squares, and it tells me all my saves are corrupted. When I turn the game off, it all goes back to normal, until I go back to the capital wasteland. I can run around point lookout all I want, but it seems that DC is cursed for me. Has anybody ever experienced something like this, especially when traveling thru worlds?



My PC specs don't matter, my computer is good enough to handle even the newer games, and the performance is fantastic. I am using windows 10 tho, which might be the cause of my problem. Here is the list of my plugins:

I tried messing with archive invalidated settings, but that ruined my new vegas.exe, had to reinstal new vegas specifically and borrow the exe from there. Will most likely reinstall TTW completely, if I can't get a solution soon.

Um - if I did my search-n-replace right, that's 149 mods. As Roy told someone else the other day, that's TOO DAMN MANY! smiley 


You should really trim the fat in that list. You need to get it below 139, and some folks can have trouble over 120. Also make sure you're using NVSR with the heap set to a MUCH larger size than default. There are at least a couple threads on NVSR and its settings for most stable operation.

Never mind, I found the culprit. It seems that the second merger patch(Supermutants 2) had very little actual changes, most were redundant changes from the previous patch, must have confused the game. Everything is working fine now, altho nadine and her mother are now immortal, for some reason


 


Let it be a lesson for anyone who finds this to not make too many merger patches, or your game could go bad

When I make a merged patch, I always go through it and look for issues. Remember that you can make your own changes to the merged patch just like any other patch. Don't want Nadine immortal? Change it in the merged patch.
