Can someone please explain what I need to do simply? I tried to do a manual install and now my game crashes on start every time.

Well as far as FO3, once you have used it to create TTW you can uninstall it completely. It will no longer be required.

That is wrong. When the new version of TTW is released, you will need it.

Well of course when the time comes to do an install of TTW FO3 would need to be installed and active. But that wasn't the question asked. The question asked was does Fallout 3 need to be operational by itself for TTW to work? And the answer again is no. Only need it active to do the TTW install. Lots of people delete FO3 after getting TTW installed if for nothing more than to save on hd space...

I'm sorry but I can't provide any simpler instructions. It seems you haven't gone through the built in tutorials of Mod Organizer. I'm going to suggest at this point that you go to Gopher's you tube channel and view his tutorials on how to use Mod Organizer with Skyrim and then his Tutorials specifically aimed at New Vegas.

Here are links to the play lists.

I watched those and it didn't exactly work for me even though I followed it to the letter. I did actually end up finding my MO folder, which was oddly inside my Fallout New Vegas folder? I think it should work if I install using MO and do the .ini changes that I get error messages about. Somehow I managed to get the game to play the Fallout 3 intro, but nothing else from TTW worked LMFAO. I also discovered that it's possible part of the problem is that my Fallout New vegas folder isn't completely re-installing every time I try to redownload the game, which means all the TTW stuff and whatnot is still in there every time. I'm trying a re-download with my Data folder purged because that's where all the stuff is and hopefuly that works.

So do I need to fix F3 so that it will work on windows 7 before TTW will work?

Well it works now... but only if I launch it using the Mod Organizer?? When I launch it using the regular launcher then it says "this save relies on content that no longer exists" and when I try to load my save, it starts me in the Mojave like I'd just exited Doc Mitchell's house... I wouldn't have a problem with having to launch it using MO except it's windowed and that's annoying to me.

If you use mod organizer, due to the way it works, you must launch the game with mod organizer.

If shouldn't run in windowed mode, sounds like you didn't setup your graphics options first.

Like Roy said MO makes it so the mods you install using it do not go into your Data folder (which is where other mod managers send the mods) so the only mod manager that can access MO installed mods is... well it is MO.

You don't need to fix Fallout 3, I don't think.
