Console not working

Configuration:


Windows 10 on Mac OS 10.11.2 via Parallels


2.7 GHz Intel Core i5


8GB Memory


Mod Organizer v 1.2.10


Steam Fallout 3 GOTY


Load Order: see attached



 


 


Issue: Pressing the ` key will not cause the console to activate, despite having no difficulty at all doing so on my copy of Skyrim. As far as I can tell, console is enabled in the init files, so I am not quite sure what the problem is. Also Sergeant RL-3 seems to be unable to use his weapons, despite them clearly being in his inventory when I check in GECK.

dunno what'd disable the ` for console, since it's a core game thing -- meaning there may, in fact, be something wrong on your NV itself.



as for RL-3, clearly having things in geck does not mean clearly having them in-game.  however, you can't actually check his inventory in-play without a console.


perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

When I tested RL-3 sometimes he wouldn't attack and just follow me, then he would attack all of a sudden later. I have no idea why he did this though, but I am posting this to say it might be TTW and not a mod's fault about RL-3 being weird.


The no console I have no idea, but I remember reading about it many years ago and one of the reasons that could happen was using a xbox controller while playing would disable the ~ key, also if windows had the ehome infrared transceiver enabled. But those are old things so I am not sure if they were fixed by now or not.

@Rise, The infrared receiver still has to be "uninstalled" in order to access the console.

So I checked, and in RL3's scripts in GECK there is no attack type command, so I added one with Mr. Gutsy's combat style and have had no more issues there.


As far as the infrared receiver is concerned, I looked and saw none installed (as I'm running on Parallels), but I'll double check.

it's been a long time since I have used Parallels, I stopped using it and only use a Bootcamp drive for windows but, is it possible you need to install some keyboard drivers? When installing Windows on a bootcamp drive OS X keyboard drivers get installed. 


I'm also not using Win 10 and only guessing but I'm also probably the only other Mac guy around. yes

Would it possibly because I didn't activate the console on vanilla NV before installing TTW?


because vanilla NV no longer runs right and I'd have to re-install to check.


@chucksteel, I thought it could be something like that because the keyboard layout options reads ` as key 148 or something, but it would have to be a NV engine thing or something because it works fine on Skyrim
