Star Paladin Cross is Caucasian?

Post by asbi12 » Sun Oct 18, 2015 9:53 am

Hi all,

I hope this is the right section for my question.

If I recall correctly (and the Fallout wiki has the right screenshots for this NPC), Star Paladin Cross used to be African American.

In my game though, she is Caucasian, as seen in the screenshot I have taken and attached to this post.

Is there any explanation to how this could have happened, or a way I can fix it?

I have patched the unmodified English Steam versions of New Vegas and FO3, installed the modification (latest version as of this writing) via FOMM 0.14.11.12, load order as stated in the instructions, no additional mods.

try clicking and unclicking your archive invalidation.  and make sure you're not still somehow using some kind of FCO type of character mod.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

Unfortunately, that did not

Unfortunately, that did not correct it.

If I find the time (in between playing sessions, because everything else works brilliantly), I am going to repair the installations via Steam's game cache verification and install the modification fresh from the start, maybe that will help.

If this is not in your ini's you'll get wrong heads/bodies.

I can't really help with finding out why she is Caucasian in your game, but I can only say that in my game she looks just fine

To my surprise, bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles actually was set to 0. I remember double checking that the .ini entries mentioned on the download page were set as described after my first installation. I have not got the slightest idea what could have modified my .ini after that, because I did not install anything else.

Which other characters would be affected by the setting 0? Most NPCs I have seen so far appeared to look alright, although most of my playtime was in New Vegas, not FO3.

That has the potential to affect any NPC in a base ESM file that has been modified by an esp file. Not also editing fallout_default.ini in your NV directory is probably the culprit.
