Huge slowdown when loading more than 79 .esm/.esps

Post by GeneralHavoc » Tue Aug 18, 2015 10:44 pm

Specs - Windows 10, Haswell i3 4130, Corsair 2x4GB 1333Hz

Mod Organizer 1.3.8

Install Log

Load Order

Fallout 3 GOTY and New Vegas Legendary Edition, both Steam. New Vegas is ENPLCZRU version.

Symptoms - Whenever more than 79 .esm and .esps are loaded and active, framerates drop to a crawl, anywhere from 0.5 fps to 3. This is regardless of the size of mod being loaded, or the script intensity. The effect is instantaneous, in that if I save with 79 .esms/.esps loaded, then add one more in and load the save up again, or even a new save, framerates will start out and stay low. I have noticed however that fullscreen popups (where the game pauses) are unaffected by this - their animations are at normal speed.

In terms of extensions I have loaded, I have 4GB Loader Updated, ENBoost without graphical enhancements, and NVSR.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Your FNV - TTW load order is

Your FNV - TTW load order is screwed up and I'm of the impression you used Loot on your modlist. Beyond that, stay below 79 mods. wink

There is nothing wrong with using LOOT. I use it to sort my load order all the time.

-----BUT-----

In our experience JUST running LOOT without double checking manually can and will lead to issues. The leading theory is that LOOT is optimized for Skyrim and much less so for FNV and so it can miss stuff or misorder stuff.

Use LOOT and then double check.

RoyBatty has a load order guide around here somewhere.

The TEAM has a load order

Post by RoyBatty » Mon Aug 24, 2015 6:25 pm

The TEAM has a load order guide stickied in the Modding Tutorials sub.

LOOT places many things in the wrong position, particularly Lighting and Weather mods, move ILO after your bash patch and move RWL last.

Frame rate drop is likely NVSR incorrect settings, turn OFF heap replacement if it's on. Turn OFF hooklightcriticalsections if it's on.
