Fallout Player voices - Is there a way to revert them?

Post by Zeus 154 » Mon Jun 29, 2015 1:04 pm

Hello TTW Community!

I have recently installed TTW, and I am having a blast! However, one of my minor gripes is the Fallout 3 player voice. I don't really like the sound of either the male or female protagonist, so I wish to change the voices back to the default voices, as heard in Fallout New Vegas.

Game edition: Fallout Game of the Year Steam edition.

Mod manager used: Nexus Mod Manager.

I have tried packaging and repackaging the FOMOD via the TTW installer, left the FO3 Player voice option unchecked on the TTW options FOMOD installer, and to no avail, haven't changed the voice.

Is there a way to go about deleting/altering the player voices?

Most information such as install logs and Load order will be listed as attachments. Specs will be listed here.

This is an issue I actually

This is an issue I actually just recently discovered. It's the way the installer is patching up the files, and including files it shouldn't be. The fix is actually a little more complex than I can manage with my current knowledge of how the patching works, but I've posted an issue on the github page so it can be looked into.

In the meantime, if you want the FNV voice back, you can go into your Fallout - Voices1.bsa and find the 'playervoicemale' and 'playervoicefemale' folders, and extract them. You can then package them as a mod and install them through your mod manager of choice.

I will consider on doing that. Just need the knowledge of how to package/create a mod; the only knowledge I have is with tinkering .ESP files in the GECK, so this will be a good learning experience for me.

Thank you for all the help, hope that you can resolve the issue in a time-effective manner!
