Can't Click Options on Menus

Post by AVestedInterest » Fri Jun 05, 2015 4:43 pm

First off, here's my technical info to help with diagnosis:

  • Windows 8.1, AMD-FX-7500 Radeon R7 (10 Compute Cores 4C+6G 2.10 GHz), 6.00 GB of RAM (4.97 GB usable)

  • FOMM 0.14.11.12

  • Both FO3 and FNV are Steam downloads (GOTY and Ultimate Editions)

  • Install Log and Load Order are attached

So the problem is weird, and I have been unable to find anything useful about fixing it elsewhere. This only started showing up after I'd been playing for a while. From time to time, sometimes after fast travel and sometimes just randomly, I am unable to click (with my mouse) on the menus. This includes Pip-Boy menus, Companion menus, Dialog menus, Barter menus, and VATS, as well as the actual menu brought up when I hit ESC. Some of these can be worked around by using the arrow keys and the Enter button, but it's honestly annoying and I keep having to exit my game when I enter certain menus (for example, I would love to fire Jericho but I just can't). I have tried removing my various mods, trimming down to just the required files to play TTW, and the problem persists.

So, if anyone is willing to help a newbie (who has little to no technical ability) out, I would be incredibly grateful.

EDIT: I did a little playing around, and it seems that the glitch is triggered by the world having to reload - for example, it happens when I fast travel, or when I die and reload.

Remove YUP and install

Remove YUP and install TTWFixes (It includes YUP) and is for TTW.

You may need to start a new game, YUP is not compatible as is with TTW.

Please review the FAQ's modding section.

I don't know if it will solve your menu issues, but it's likely. Also it will fix a whooooooole bunch of other stuff you didn't notice yet.

Thank you kindly! I'm downloading it now.

I think it says something about these games (and probably about me, too) that I don't mind scrapping 13 hours of gameplay to fix some bugs :P
