The Fallout 3 Companions' Wheel does not work, is this intentional?

The Fallout 3 Companions' Wheel does not work, is this intentional?

If I attempt to access the companion wheel, none of the options except "Talk to" work, and when clicking "Talk to" I get only one dialogue option, which is to say goodbye. Is there any way to fix this? There is no way for me to dismiss companions or even talk to them. Note that this only happens with companions recruited in the Capital Wasteland, as far as I know.

Is it ALL of them or any in particular? I've not seen this happen before so I'd like to get as much information as possible.  


I don't see anything jumping out at me in your load order. Other than you could stand to have a merged patch made.

Something is wrong with your game because I tested followers recently on my TTW (TTW + DarnUI + MCM + TTW Optionals only) and the companion wheels kinda work. We can access the inventory, we can tell them to stay or come with us and so on, IIRC the only ones that  might not work yet are the Passive/Aggressive and maybe the distance ones. All of the companions dialogs works perfectly so I do not know what to tell you except that it is not TTW's fault frown.

It is all companions from the Capital Wasteland. Every companion except Dogmeat only gives me an option to say "goodbye" in the dialogue menu. In Dogmeat's case, the menu does not show up at all. Companions from the Mojave seem to work fine.


 


I've found that the only way to dismiss them so far is to kill them via console. Otherwise I cannot get rid of any companion, since there is no option to do so.


Problem Solved. Ended up being AWOP conflicting with some other mod in my load order.

Definitely a mod conflict, it shouldn't be Russell anymore as we fixed the Greeting issue with him. Could be one of someguys other mods... perhaps inheritance.


Badmothfucka works, I tested him, although he has a bug and his wait package doesn't work.


TTW_Fallout3_BattleMusic.esp is no longer needed, you can remove it.

Yep. It turned out to be a mod conflict between AWOP and something else.

With what? Since I maintain AWOP, I would surely like to know.


There is a patch for Russell already.


AWOP should not disable the companion wheels, I use it of course.

I'm not sure what it is conflicting with. If it helps, I was running the Fallout: New Vegas AWOP, not the Fallout 3 TTW Converted version. I'm not experienced with modding at all, so I don't know why AWOP was disabling the companion wheel functionality.

I'm going to assume you disabled AWOP and things started working properly. If it's not too much trouble, re-enable it and disable/enable your load order a few mods at a time. Roy will fix the issue, but you have to tell him what it is.

I will check it a bit more closely and make sure Athelbras didn't break anything. I found one dialogue response with changed text so far that I reverted.


If it is conflicting with any other mod, I need to know so that it can be fixed.


I can rule out Bad MF and Russell, I haven't gotten round to installing bounties and inheritance yet, I will now though.


I don't know if WarZones has any companions.
