Installer crashes on start-up

Post by stijmunkey » Mon Mar 09, 2015 5:56 am

Hi guys! New to TTW here, I guess i should start with the required info :)

System Specs: Windows 7 ultimate, i5 processor, 16GB of ram.

FOMM v.14.11.12

Dont have a TTW Install log because i cant open the installer

Again not installed yet but i can still give my load order if needed

Installer gives me: the precedure entry point rpcserversubscribefordisconnectnotification could not be located in the dynamic link library RPTCRT4.dll Error message then promptly crashes. (for the record FOMM gives the same error but functions fine? Im assuming it could be related?)

I've tried redownloading the installer. . . 3 times lol, made sure to run as admin, even tried troubleshooting compatibility a few times.

FO3 version is steam GOTY

FNV version is steam Ultimate

Hope we can figure this out, i'm really looking forward to playing this!

Also Hi! I'm stijmunkey, used to be involved with Skywind. . .think the only person i know here is Thermador :p

Thanks for the report. This

Thanks for the report. This is a system issue unrelated to TTW.

I'd try to run sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt and see if it gets repaired automatically. If you've previously installed any of the hotfixes for RPCRT4.dll-related issues, make sure you remove them and update completely. And of course, have a legit copy of your OS.

I will try that as soon as I get home, thanks. . . Also don't scare me like that! Bought my computer used so I suppose it is possible my windows isn't genuine, but I sure hope not!
