Won't install

Tried to run the installation, had to show it where to look for Fallout3.exe.

I run both games though Steam, both are full special/ultimate edition. Installation says that it cant find the required expansions when I know they are there. I have not played Fallout 3 on this installation, only New Vegas, would that have an effect?

Please help.

Make sure to run the installer as administrator. Mine failed as well when I ran it as my own user account but worked fine as administrator.

If "Run as administrator" still doesn't work, make sure none of your Fallout 3 files are "Read only" on their properties.

NEW PROBLEM!

Now, its crashing when I start up a new game from FO3....

This was a new installation that I hadn't started up before now, could that be why its having this problem?

If so, how do I fix it?

I had installed several additional mods, but I have turned them off and retried starting a new game, still crashed.

If you have Windows 10 make sure you're using NVAC. Windows 10 anniversary edition broke Fallout New Vegas.

Actually, I needed to start up New Vegas, not FO3... I feel like an idiot...
