Combat Shotgun Not being Affected by Shotgun Perks

Post by CrusaderTheFirst » Thu Oct 22, 2015 7:43 am

When I used the combat shotgun, whether mods attached or not, it wouldn't be affected by the shotgun surgeon and and stay back perks. I tried to find a fix but I couldn't find anything. This isn't because of any other mods I installed. I would fix it myself but it's too complex for me to make weapons work with perks. There's also no guide (or at least anything obvious and easy to understand). If anybody can fix this problem, I'd really appreciate it.

I am looking in xEdit at the formlist which TTW substitutes for New Vegas's for those weapons which are affected by the aforementioned perk(s). The combat shotgun is included in this list.

Please provide your load order if you'd like help in identifying the incompatible mod.

What (I think) TV's politely saying is "It's user error. You installed mods all willy nilly and something overwrote that record. A merged or bashed patch would've probably corrected the error, but you apparently aren't using one. Take care of that and next time you have an issue please include the required information when posting an issue."

OK, it took me a while to figure out what load order meant because it was a new thing to me (I'm no modding expert), but here it is. Attached to the post.

You should be using the merged wmx plugins for one thing, or the TTW version. Also you have no merge or bash patch, which is why the combat shotgun isn't being affected.

Merged Patch:

Post by TJ » Fri Oct 23, 2015 3:15 pm

Merged Patch:

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/881891-merged-patch/?p=7060167

Instead of FO3Edit, use FNVEdit (same program, I know, but simpler to explain this way). And when it says right click > Create Merged Patch you should Right click > Other > Create Merged Patch. Other than that the process is the same.

Bashed Patch:

Same thing here. Instead of using Wyre Smash, use whatever wyre thing is for FNV.

WMX:

You'd have to ask someone involved with the project for the merged patch for that, I don't know where to find it and am not looking. Sorry.

You'll see following the guides that this is not something we can provide for you, as it's tailor made for your game.

Here's a link for the TTW WMX that Roy mentioned. I use it and haven't run into any issues that I can think of.
