TTW Installer fails after processing Fallout 3 Meshes

Post by VexingDevil » Tue Nov 25, 2014 5:22 pm

I'm having problems installing Tale of Two Wastelands, and I was hoping someone could help me. When I run the Tale of Two Wastelands installer it starts fine, spends a few seconds building Fallout 3 meshes, then fails with an error message. I've included screenshots of the TTW installer before and after running, the (rather unhelpful) error message I got when I ran it, and the log the installer generated.

I'm installing to an empty directory and I'm running the installer as an administrator. So far, I've tried installing .NET  4.0. The .NET installer said that I already had .NET installed, so I opted to repair the installation, which completed successfully.

I also tried googling the issue, but I didn't find anyone with the same error as me.

This is a brand new windows 7 installation as I'm dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 14.04 and only using Windows 7 for games. This means that I have a relatively wacky partition configuration. I doubt that matters, but I'm trying to provide as much information as possible.

I'm using an Asus G75VW laptop with an Intel I7 3610QM processor and 8GB of RAM running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have the GOTY editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas installed through Steam.

Thanks in advance!

Steam verify your FO3 files

Steam verify your FO3 files and redownload the installer. You're either missing the patch files or your meshes.bsa is corrupt.

That's my guess anyway. Sounds good right?

Makes sense to me! I'll try

Makes sense to me! I'll try that, thanks!

Edit: Steam found and fixed a problem with Fallout 3 when I verified it, and now the installer is working perfectly and building FOMODs as I'm typing this. Thanks so much!
