how does one go about enabling the games more aggressive Garbage collection routines?
Yes what he said...at the time my memory problems lead from my aggressive use of player.placeatme which has been cured (mostly) but I put allot of stuff in my now geck edited hideout and do worry the problem will one day return. Have always used FNV4GB, and NVSE, but unfamiliar with initial heap replacement option.
Personally I use the following...
500GB SSD - C:\ (Used for Operating system, Highest priority programs and those that only run off C drive (I have aimed to keep this one atleast 70% free space))
500GB SSD - G:\ (Used for higher priority programs (havent really dipped into this one yet myself))
3TB - H:\ (Used for your normal priority programs and file storage (good spot for 3dsMax scenes and mass files leading up to a completed mod))
3TB - I:\ (Used for your normal priority programs and file storage (good spot for 3dsMax scenes and mass files leading up to a completed mod))
That set up was recommended to me by a retired microsoft employee whom I played RIFT with online.
You can enable it by doing the following;
under the [General] section of the inis add the setting if missing or set to it to 1
bPreemptivelyUnloadCells=1
under the [BackgroundLoad] section of the inis add the setting if missing or set it to 1
bSelectivePurgeUnusedOnFastTravel=1
As usual probably need to do this in all three inis as I don't know which one the game actually takes the settings from. Also do NOT use these in conjunction with Zan AutoPurge Crash Protector or any other Cell Purging plugin as they are not compatible. That being said, the games own purging works better and doesn't cause bugs the other plugins do.

Thanks very much Roy, I was using Zan AutoPurge Crash Protector at one point, it works very well but aside from some annoying pop up menu interference it had managed to mess up some saves when it interrupting some of my mod setup options (Groovatron in particular) so I stopped using it altogether (instead of remembering to deactivate, very nice feature). Hoping console Command pcb doesn't mess anything up to much as I do use it occasionally.
A55K1KA...wow, what can I say but simply outstanding:) thanks so much for the share, very useful information but I fear for me personally more of just a peak into how the other half is doing:) Will be going after one of those 500GB ssd's for sure, and will defiantly be using the information you posted here when the time comes to get new pc:)
