Exclamations everywhere! Mojave only.

Post by DjDave888 » Mon May 04, 2015 11:17 pm

So I've been playing TTW for a while now with lots of mods and it's been working fine, haven't noticed any problems other than time-to-time crashes while loading a location (rather rare and happens to even modded youtubers with more experience than I at this stuff.) Now as soon as I left Doc Mitchel's, I was attacked by some contract killers from a mod. Okay, no biggy there except their .22 SMG's had become the large exclamation points. I figured it was just theirs and that maybe it would fix itself. Down the road from Goodsprings I noticed flora, boxes and the small trailer to the right past the rocks near Indy's Fridge - hell, even the fridge - had become the exclamations. I've tried deleting unused mods,  LOOTING my load order, Moving it around manually, turning it off and on again, and verifying each game.

Like I said everything works fine and if I return to DC manually with commands, everything works fine there, no missing stuff or anything. I find it extremely odd that the missing items are vanilla items and static objects.

I'm running F:NV through Fallout Mod Mannager and using 4GB Fallout, my FO3 version is GOTY Steam, runing on Win7, 1 TB hard drive with the OS on a 120 GB SSD, i5-3570k, 8GB ram. Edit: nearly forgot the install log, I'll upload it now.

I've since started a new game on another load order with more mods, it has great stability. I'll include it to cross reference. I'm hoping to get some of the mods in the current one onto a working TTW load as well. Thanks.

Reduce the number of plug ins

Reduce the number of plug ins in your LO, try for under 130.  The game reads them even if they are not checked off in your mod manager.

Been trying, however, if I have any less I can't switch between TTW and the standard game. It's a bit of a chellenge, but I'll get back to you once I've moved some stuff and deleted some stuff.

Aye I had figured so, I just found it to be odd that it hadn't caused a problem in DC, ever, like at all. I literally had no problems which was always a bit eerie. Anyways, I'm trying to remove stuff but there's a few I just can't take out due to it crashing...

Yeah, I don't really see this working out anyway, I'd have to remove around 60-70 files...

Well, thanks for the help but I think I'll just make a new install of everything one day, as I really enjoy some of the included mods like Monster Mod, but they clash with TTW. So, yeah. Thanks though!

I've got both running on the current load order, which I can deal with not having FO3 stuff. The main thing I really miss from Fallout 3 are just some of the guns, like the Pitt's unique laser rifle, Metal Blaster, was it? The world space is nice but after going through D(L)C I probably wouldn't return often anyway.
