Level of Detail/Draw Distance issue

Post by Shadow-Strike » Sat Aug 30, 2014 12:14 pm

Currently I'm using Windows 8.1.  With a 64-bit Operating System, x64 based processor [Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz] and 8.00GB of RAM.

Nexus Mod Manager version (0.52.1)

Currently I'm running a completely fresh Fallout New Vegas with only FNV's DLC, F3 DLC's, Tale of Two Wastelands, TTW Fixes, TTW speechchecks, TTW Super_mutant Rebalance, TTW Bobbleheads and TTW Stash Pack.  There is no texture mods or other mods that do not show up in the load order.  I used both Fallout 3 Game of The Year Edition and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition both disc copies.  In addition I'm using TTW Alpha Download v2.6.3a.

Currently the problem I'm facing is that the draw distance and level of detail appear are too low although I'm currently running with Max Settings.  This is what I get having just left Vault 101.  http://i.imgur.com/ZMrU2AG.jpg

At this moment I've tried upping the fload distance on tree and block although I have seen no positive results from this.  Increasing the Ugrid from 5 to 7,9 and 11 had positive effects although this greatly reduced my performance and I believe is not a viable fix and still didn't help with further away objects such as tall buildings.

I see nothing wrong with the draw distance or LOD data for either terrain or blocks in that screenshot.

Did you use the launcher before playing with TTW to move the draw distance sliders for everything to the max level? Otherwise, this bespeaks graphics settings issues and not an installation issue.

I was unsure about whether I had used the Launcher or not although having checked that and using the New Vegas Launcher I found that the problem still existed for me.  I also tried with a new save but found that there was no change.

Do you launch the game using steam? Have you tried validating the game cache in steam?

I usually use FNV4GB to load my game with NVSE installed.  Although I cleared that to try and fix the game so right now I'm using the steam launcher.  I've not tried validating my game but I'll try that right now.

I have the feeling that it is like TrickyVein says, a graphics setting issue, but unfortunately I have no idea how to fix it sad.

I'll try and clear my Fallout New Vegas folder and use the TTW installer again.  I'll report on the results soon.

Edit:  Ok I reinstalled the game and got the exact same results.
