Fallout3.esm=1

Anchorage.esm=1

ThePitt.esm=1

BrokenSteel.esm=1

PointLookout.esm=1

Zeta.esm=1

TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm=1

------------------

Install log is included as attachment.

i am using fallout goty, and fallout new vegas with all dlc's on steam.

-----------------------------------

The Issue:

installation in general goes smoothly with no problems, however when i attempt to activate the mods in nexus mod manager i am prompted to overwrite some files in the fallout.ini (i will include these prompts once fallout has reinstalled as i tediously have to whenever the error happens).

1 prompt was about some QuestCharGen and the other some main menu background (as i recall it)

once i say "yes to all" (if i do) nexus mod manager crashes, however still installs the mod, yet fails to recognize that it has installed the mod, forcing me to manually remove everything it has installed (hence the reinstall).

on top of that, i cannot start fallout, as when i do (this is when i assumed TTW was installed) the game minimizes, refuses to be maximized at remains as black screen.

both fallouts are fresh installs untouched by any mods and other black magic.

if i forgot to include some kind of information, thanks :D

*sorry for bad engrish

what does it say when it

what does it say when it crashes after you click "Yes To All"? That seems like the most important info.

i just looked up how to make

Post by Zhidori » Sun Jul 13, 2014 9:23 pm

i just looked up how to make the manual install, and recognized the prompt, it's asking to overwrite the .ini file with what you have to manually change in the fallout.ini in the manual install step 2. (you probably figured that one out before me)

so i went in and changed the values manually and decided to make a manual install, which now makes the game crash (again into a minimized black screen).

i will try to redo it all again as i see no other way than manually removing the mods, which i have no idea how to.

the reason i have to do this is it will only ask to do a overwrite once, although not overwriting anything, so i have to do everything over again in order to replicate the error i am getting.

It almost looks like there is

It almost looks like there is something wrong with NMM itself. Try uninstalling NMM and reinstalling NMM.

okay, so i tried to reinstall

Post by Zhidori » Mon Jul 14, 2014 8:11 am

okay, so i tried to reinstall everything, and just wanted to recheck if new vegas even works.

now i am experiencing serious issues with my game as follows;

when i launch new vegas (not as admin) it goes to a black minimized (to tray) screen, music still playing.

when i launch as admin, the launcher (when i press play) simply relaunches the launcher.

i have never had these issues before attempting to install TTW, so it has to be related somehow.

when i reinstall i do indeed delete the folders in steamapps/common, to delete all excessive mods and what not, on top of that, i previously installed fallout 3 and falloutnv on an external hardrive (E:/), now i decided to try installing it on C:/, which still gives me this issue.

verifying integrity of cache does nothing for me.

reinstalling vcredist does nothing either.

:/

*edit: okay this is seriously getting weirder and weirder, i am able to run the game if i tick "run in 680 x 480 resolution" in compatibility

*update: okay, although i have never experienced these issues before, i have now found a temporary solution, using Game Companion 2.1, (fake fullscreen) i am able to playe falloutnv clean atleast.

thus prompting me to retry my efforts at installing TTW, when i select the install path for ttw i get an unhandled exception, is this normal? ( i selected C/:TTW, a short path as suggested)

UPDATE:

Post by Zhidori » Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:12 am

UPDATE:

okay so i have finally gotten everything to work (almost)! by doing a manual install and launching the game using the FOMM.

however i have only one little issue; the main menu display with the original new vegas title, and not the tale of two wastelands title, yet everything seems to work, with fallout 3 intro and start, does the missing title indicate that the install is broken? or is it a minor bug?
