Load Save Game - Crash

Post by 2themax23 » Sun Mar 01, 2015 1:10 am

  • OS - Windows 7

  • Processor - Intel Core i5-3570k

  • RAM - 16.0 GB

  • Mod Manager - FOMM v0.14.11.9

  • Fallout 3 - Steam GOTY

Whenever I try to load a save game of Fallout 3, the game freezes. Locking the cursor in the middle of the screen. The roulette table continues to spin, but all music ends abruptly.

I'm sorry if this isn't enough info, this is my first time experimenting with the ToTW mod.

Kill me again or take me as I am, for I shall not change.

I'm sorry I didn't make it

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear enough. This is a ToTW save file, I said Fallout 3 because I was in Capital Wasteland, not NV.

Might be case of save

Might be case of save corruption. An obscure method which works unexpectedly well is to load last save the game lets you, then kill yourself (grenades, click yourself in console type kill <enter>, etc), game should then reload the latest (freezing) save after short while of being dead. The technical behind it I've been told is the game reinitializes some of the stuff that causes the save loading problems only on death.

Mind you, this is not 100% I've had saves which were plain destroyed and just had to roll back to earlier save, but also had plenty of saves that were "cured" like this.

I once found out that some

I once found out that some "broken" saves would work for me if I didn't use the Continue option from the main menu but instead went to Load and then pick the latest save... I have no idea why that would work, but it did frown.
