TTW causes infinite hanging on startup

Post by Blkdrgn » Sat Jun 14, 2014 8:23 pm

I've recently reinstalled Fallout and when trying to run it, causes infinite hanging. I've made sure it isn't any conflicting mods and isolated the problem to PointLookout.esm. I've tried re-installing TTW, but continue to experience the same problem with PointLookout.esm.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Processer: i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz (8 CPUs)

Memory: 4096MB RAM

Nexus Mod Manager 0.50.3

Fallout 3: Steam GOTY

EDIT: Completely reinstalled Fallout 3 GOTY and re-ran installer. Still experiencing same problem.

The installer didnt finish.

Are you 100% sure you have the required dependencies?

Did you try renaming BSAOpt?

Did you read the Crashing/Freezing on startup section in the FAQ?

I did skip the ones that were properly working because I found the problem, should I just re-install the entire thing?

I am 100% sure. I have checked my load order countless times to see if it matches the one displayed on the tutorial.

I do not even know what that is. Do you mind explaining to me?

I have, but none of the the questions seem to relate to me with exception to the method I tried mentioned about re-installing the corrupted file.

I am unfamiliar with re-running the installer (I always get lucky with this sort of stuff) but I dont think the installer should be stopping at "Copying Fallout Video" no matter what you do. Hopefully one of the other team members wanders by and knows more.

Dependencies have nothing to do with your load order. It refers to the C++ Redistributables and the .Net Framework.

BSAOpt is the program that unpacks and repacks the BSA archives during install. Renaming it probably wont help, but I have a vague recollection of it helping someone else with main menu issues. Delete BSAOpt_x64.exe and rename the _x32 one to _x64.

In that case, I have the dependencies needed. I'll try renaming the BSAOpt then and running the installer again for just Point Lookout.

Edit: No luck, Point Lookout is still causing the hang. Is there an archive for TTW versions because I don't think the latest is working for me.
