  i click install and i keep getting this message "The above files were not found. Make sure your Fallout 3 location is accurate and try again.



Installation failed."


any ideas? folders for ttw, new vegas and fo3  are all in programfiles86\steam\steamapps\common\fo3goty(or)fonewvegas(or)ttw (i did not copy and paste this so it actually spells out fallout ect. so its not exact but you get the idea

nevermind, i figured it out, i had to extract the files out of the download folder and right clicked the ttw installer and run as admin, even thogh i was admin, so if your having this problem here is your solution

That is why in the install instructions it says:



1. Launch the installer .exe file by right-clicking on it and choosing "Run as Administrator".  THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL.

I definitely started the program with "run as admin" (as per instructions) and ran into this issue. I closed the program and reran it again with admin rights. It fixed the issue.



Posting this in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

Generating the ini files is not the only thing running the launcher does. Anyone here ever heard of the windows registry? That is where things like the location of a program are logged.
