Forearm Disappearing? [RESOLVED]

Post by MarchUntoTorment » Wed Jul 02, 2014 2:18 am

EDIT: This topic is CLOSED, as I managed to resolve the problem myself. For any future hopefuls who are wondering how, check the last post in this topic.

My character's left forearm is disappearing in 1st person view whenever I use COL Enclave Tesla Armour; always perfectly fine in 3rd person.

There are a couple of possible causes for this, I believe.

1. I use NVEC (New Vegas Enhanced Camera, that is), which messes around big-time with the relationship between 1st person and 3rd person models. I don't know enough about modelling or the way it works to be able to diagnose this, though.

2. I use the Pip-Boy 2500, which naturally removes the Pip-Boy from the player's forearm. As this is a custom set of armour, the possibility is quite high that the armour was never rigged with a first-person left forearm model. This is by far the most likely cause, as I could see the Pip-Boy on my arm just fine when I uninstalled the 2500 in preparation for Tranquility Lane.

I doubt this is TTW-related, but I figured I'd post it here anyway; you guys tend to be way more helpful than the Nexus. I don't think it's LO-related, but I can post my LO if anyone thinks it'd help.

Anyone have any suggestions to fix? I thought I could live with this bug, but I can't :P Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Did you uninstall incorrectly, then install it again? The description page for the mod tells you how to uninstall the mod the proper way so that your pipboy isn't removed from your character entirely in your saved game.

I followed the standardised

I followed the standardised process to uninstall for Tranquility Lane, yes. It was something like 'save, use tool to uninstall, save, uninstall from manager, reload, save, quit, reload, play'.

That said, should I try uninstalling the 2500 (using the method given on the page, naturally) then re-installing and seeing if that fixes my issue?

UPDATE

UPDATE

Alright, so uninstalling and re-installing (following all instructions) didn't work. I'm back to thinking that this armour was just never equipped with a left forearm 1st person model in the first place.

I know that this is a huge ask, but is there anyone here who'd be willing to quickly rig up a fix for me? It shouldn't be a hard piece of modelling, but I lack the skill with NifSkope to make this work (on account of having never touched NifSkope in my life).

If anyone would be willing to take this on, they would have my eternal gratitude.

UPDATE

Problem solved - just needed to change the left arm to 'arm' instead of 'upperbody' in NifSkope.

Thank you to everyone who assisted me in this!
