facing a problem with the mod

Post by Babar1982 » Tue May 20, 2014 9:54 am

Hello development team

-  Recently ive started to face a slight problem with the mod .

-Which is to do with the  Fallout.ini file .

- When i make the changes to it as mentioned on the alpha download page of this mod .

-The changes done accordingly revert back to what they were before i made those changes .

-This occurs as soon as i start a new game .

-For this reason im starting at Doc Michelles instead of birth at Vault 101 .Need help to resolve this problem please .

-Secondly when i check tick all the mods installed along with this mod in the Nexus mod manager and start the game with the changes to the .ini file according to the alpha download page .

-The game freezes as i click on continue or new game .All i can see is the HUD at the bottom and the rest of the screen is black and the game is frozen at that point.

-when i uncheck all other mods installed and just keep the tale of two waste lands related mods checked .Along with the .ini changes as guided on the alpha download page.

-There just the dad and the nurse there staring at the screen in vault 101 .

Need help please  to resolve this issue too.

I find the best policy is to apply all edits to the Fallout.ini and the FalloutPrefs.ini and FalloutDefault.ini (I think I'm away from my pc) The FalloutDefault.ini file lives in the game directory rather than the user one that the others live in. Make sure that any changes you apply to theFallout.ini are applied to the FalloutDefault.ini, take backups of all these ini and be aware that in you check integrity of local files in Steam it can reset all these ini back to default.

Watch out they tend to be write protected so you might need to remove that before editing them.

Sounds an awful lot like you're staring the game with the Launcher.

IIRC this resets the .ini's in My Games to whatever the fallout_default.ini has.

Also, afaik there are no mods that can change the .ini files EXCEPT when they are installed. Activating/deactivating does nothing.
