Missing(?) Companion Bug

Post by Dabbster » Fri Apr 04, 2014 9:02 pm

Greetings, I am having an issue where, whenever I try to recruit a companion, or go to the Happy Trails quest start, it prevents me telling me I already have a companion that i need to get rid of, but the thing is, I don't have a companion.

So far in my game, I've beaten FO3 main storyline + OA + BS, and Had Fawkes as a companion, I went to do Mothership Zeta and it auto-dismissed him back to the MoH, MZ was all fine and good, so I finish that, and go to NV, and than the problem started occuring somewhere in between there, I've also  done the sydney quest between having fawkes as a companion and starting MZ, and had this problem, which i *fixed* on MZ, I'm not sure if they might be related.

I've tried going back to Fawkes and doing the setplayerteammate 1 and than setplayertemmate 0 to see if he was the issue, and then I tried it again on one of the broken temp companions i *fixed* earlier.

I've also tried using the dismiss all companions at the Lucky 38 teminal, with no success of fixing the issue

I don't believe its relevant to my issue, but

Windows 7, Intel i7, 8GB Ram

Load order is the same as the one listed in the instructions (Manually selected load order)

Both my Fallouts are Steam edition goty and ultimate.

Are you using the followers hotfix from the hotfixes section of the alpha download page?
