2.4 Install problems

Post by ss2 » Fri Feb 28, 2014 1:43 am

I'm trying to install version 2.4 and i've gone through the entire process up until now without any issues. I'm at the point where one either creates the fomods and uses a mod manager to install ttw or does a manual install. The problem i'm running into is when I attempt to install the main files with NMM I get this "A problem has occurred during install: Object '/ef9d4d7d_7c37_4112_ad67_2c5c86ec2419/nbphkspzfdwxzeifvdczobvx_3.rem'  has been disconnected or does not exist at the server. The mod was not installed. " after that I tried using FMM which seemed to work i was able to add the files and activated the first one and upon trying to do so for the second it now tells me i need to install the main file first but i'd just finished doing so and i see no file in my load order. I would really rather avoid doing a manual install.

I've got no idea what the problem is and neither mod manager I have is working at all. Can somebody help me out and tell me whats going wrong? Is this something on the Nexus' side or is it just the files?

What's your OS? How much Ram do you have? You may need to try the LAA FOMM to get it to install.

I'm using windows 7 and 6GB. I would think that would enough for just installing a mod.

LAA FOMM is just FOMM correct

Post by ss2 » Fri Feb 28, 2014 4:08 pm

LAA FOMM is just FOMM correct? Because I have fallout mod manager and I tried it like I said. That was the one that said it worked but didn't in actuality. I assume thats the case because google searching it just gets me FOMM.

Edit: Well it seems FOMM worked for me. I got to install with it sadly now i'm getting an infinite title screen with no menu. Guess now I have to figure this out but at least thats better then it not even working at all.

Well i'm double, triple and quadruple checked my load order. I've played around with loading diffrent files and tried every combination under the sun the only other thing I can guess thats happening is I either have to many plugins running at once (running everything I normally do and ttw puts me at 149 total plugins, just below the magical number of mod limits) or my install of ttw went wrong somewhere along the line. At this point i'm almost feeling its not worth it just for the sheer hassle. Perhaps the next version will work out better for me

Has it occurred to you to not

Has it occurred to you to not use as many mods?

You might be able to run TTW without any issues and we have no idea.

Verify that you can run 2.4 without mods, first. Then, if it turns out you get past the loading screen, great. Then you know that your problem lies in mod conflicts and until you rectify your load order it's not going to matter which version of TTW you're running.

If you can't get past the load screen while running TTW without any additional mods, I suggest following a manual installation.

OK 1 you don't need to be

OK 1 you don't need to be rude and 2 yes it had occurred to me and that was the first thing I tried. Hence why I think something may have gone wrong within my ttw install.
