Make the ini changes listed

Make the ini changes listed on the alpha download page to your Fallout.ini. That will fix the starting in Vegas thing. If it doesn't, or the changes are already made then you have a mod conflict.

if your unsure about the ini

Post by lustephelon » Mon Apr 14, 2014 6:39 am

if your unsure about the ini changes and you have FOMM you can reactivate the mod and often that will do the changes.

now that you have a good set of files,  if the menu disappears again it will most likely be a new mod that effects the UI.   I know I've broken stuff a couple times forgetting to reactivate unified hud after updating one of the components.

Yes that's the desired effect. *Most* New Vegas mods are compatible.

The FAQ has an entire section on modding and TTW. I would suggest you read it.

Maybe you should have backed

Maybe you should have backed up your working TTW install before you started modding?

If you had read the FAQ like Jax told you to you would have seen this:

"Now before you do ANYTHING else, make a full copy of your entire Fallout: New Vegas directory as a backup.  That way, if you want to start over with a fresh installation, you can just delete the contents of your New Vegas folder (not the folder itself) and copy the clean installation (with modding tools) back into the directory."
