After travelling to New Vegas from DC, doc mitchell don't talk to me

Post by The Megapode » Sat Feb 15, 2014 10:54 am

I have tried using enableplayercontrols, and when I move away from him, the dialogue starts but doesn't get past the first line. Then I lose control again. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any console commands I can use to fix it, bypass it, or add the necessary quests/mark them as complete?

I am using a custom race if that makes any difference. I have tried disabling all my mods and it doesn't make a difference.

Using latest version of ttw.

If this is your load order no

If this is your load order no wonder it comes to troubles. Check on the download page Step 3 to correct it.

It's weird because I never

Post by The Megapode » Sun Feb 16, 2014 1:02 pm

It's weird because I never had any trouble before then. Starting a new game in either wasteland works perfectly normally. I'll move some stuff around and give it another go, thanks for the advice.

Normally I do pay attention to all that stuff, I used to use RFCW before this. I guess I was just feeling lazy when I installed it and everything worked fine, so I didn't interfere.

Anyways, I'll report back with my findings. Thanks again.

Edit: Simply changing the load order had no effect on this issue. Is there any way to force the dialogue/event through the console, or finish the "Ain't that a kick in the head" quest with the console?

How did you change your load order? How could you find out which load order to use?

Moved the ESMs around

Moved the ESMs around according to the install instructions page sesom posted, with NMM. No other changes.

The thing that gets me though

Post by The Megapode » Mon Feb 17, 2014 6:10 am

The thing that gets me though is that it works perfectly fine starting from scratch in either NV or DC. But moving to NV from DC? Nope.

At this point I think the best solution would be some console commands to skip this bit and add the NV chargen quest as "complete" but nobody seems to know how.

TrickyVein, I appreciate the attempt to help, but at this point I don't think posting links to the FAQ is productive.

DO NOT USE Mission Mojave

Post by JaxFirehart » Mon Feb 17, 2014 6:19 am

DO NOT USE Mission Mojave Ultimate Edition (MMUE) or NVEC Bugfixes

I see you have MMUE in your load oder as well as various RFCW plugins. They are marked unloaded but if they were ever loaded with this save that could be what is causing the problem. The FAQ also mentions that you should unload all of your non TTW mods before reporting problems. Once you do that you can start enabling them one at a time until the problems start. Then you know which mod is causing the problem.
