Crash on New Game

Post by Pvt_Classified » Fri May 09, 2014 2:44 am

Hi, I'm excited to start using this fantastic-looking mod. Unfortunately, I've been having trouble as outlined below. I've followed the instructions thoroughly, but I'm almost positive that I've made a foolish error somewhere. I have tried with and without the hotfixes listed on the download page.

System Specs:

  • Operating System:Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

  • Processor: AMD A6-3650 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz

  • Memory: 4096MB RAM

I own:

  • Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition (Steam)

  • Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition (Steam)

Mod Managers that I use:

  • Nexus Mod Manager 0.49.6

  • Fallout Mod Manager 0.13.21

Latest Installation Log is attached

This is the order of steps that I tried:

Try #1

  • Started with formerly modded (I unistalled all mods) Falout New Vegas and Fallout 3 (bad idea in hindsight)

  • Downloaded TTW 2.4a Installer.rar

  • Unzipped and ran TTW installer as administrator

  • Attempted  FOMOD, NMM, and Manual Installation

  • Attempted FOMOD and Manual Installation

Try #2

  • Completely uninstalled Fallout 3 and New Vegas, performed clean install

  • Unzipped and ran TTW installer as administrator

  • Attempted  FOMOD, NMM, and Manual Installation

Try #3

  • Completely uninstalled Fallout 3 and New Vegas again, performed clean install again

  • Downloaded TTW 2.4a Installer.rar again

  • Unzipped and ran TTW installer as administrator

  • Attempted  FOMOD, NMM, and Manual Installation

These were the results invariably:

Problem #1

After manual installation, I successfully load Fallout New Vegas's menu. The menu says "Fallout Tale of Two Wastelands." When I click to start a New Game, the game crashes.

Problem #2

I get this error message when installing via Nexus Mod Manager

Problem #3

When installing with Fallout Mod Manager, only Anchorage.esm and BrokenSteel.esm are installed

Hopefully your smart enough to have updated your Direct X and that's what you mean, cause it sounds like you downloaded some random malware downloader labelled d3d9.dll. If that's what you did trash that thing and google "DX Web Setup."
