[SOLVED]GECK display driver stopped responding

Post by PrivateJoker » Wed Jun 11, 2014 3:28 pm

When I try to load all the master files and TG's armor collection in the Geck and press Preview armour, the ati driver crashes and the screen blacks out for a bit before restarting, giving me a message "your display driver has stopped responding and has been restarted" and loops like that until I close the geck.

Anybody know how to fix this?  Tried to extend the amount of time my graphics card would wait before resetting the driver but it still crashes.

Using ATI 7970

I believe some lines could be edited to help with stability but I was thinking about the CK (Skyrim) when i answered...

You may want to ask this to Chucksteel,  he is a kind of the GECK master

Also you want to start the GECK with NVSE. Create a shortcut of NVSE.exe and add "  -editor  ", in the target box.

For a stable GECK, you don't want to use an ENB preset while "GECKING" .

Agreed Algaroth, Thank you Luthien and Manos!  Yes I did have an ENB setting installed and renaming the d3d9 dll fixed it!  :)

Have you also set the LAA

Have you also set the LAA flag in the executable? This is really helpful too. If you run windows 7 or 8 you can right click the shortcut and select to run the exe in Vista compatibility mode too and it should reduce random crashes. I learned that trick from Chuck.

I like to use Geck Power Up when I'm editing scripts for the error checking. Gribble also made a really nice Notepad ++ setup for editing GECK scripts.
