Installer crashes

Upon pressing the install button it comes up with a window that is just black and does nothing.

First I have to say RTFM

Next I'll let you in on some secrets that you could not have found out buy searching these forums.

the installer was working as designed

the install process can take up to 2.5 hours to complete

the installer has to unpack edit all of FO3 to complete

Sounds like your computer is overheating, use Google, and search for a way to force the installer to only use 1 or 2 cores, it will take much longer, but it should work.
