So, I have been re-playing Fallout 3 using TTW for a long time. I have made it up to level ten and I am currently on the Waters of Life quest and I have just one question:


Is this mod supposed to be this hard?


First the Super Mutants were harder than I remembered, but not terribly difficult. I could handle them but they soak up more ammo than I remember. But now the Enclave show up and they are bullet sponges! Not only are the default Fallout 3 guys taking more damage than I remembered, but now some of them show up wearing classic Enclave power armor ala Fallout 2. While I like the look of the armor, it has a far higher DT than the standard armor from Fallout 3, which in itself has been upgraded.


So I needed to ask, is this intentional? Did the TTW mod add in the new Enclave armor and rebuff the stats? Or is this an issue with the base game or another mod I have installed? Or is there no issue at all and I just remember the game being easier?




And, with all do respect, please do not come in here and give half-hearted guess work like "Oh I blitzed through on very hard and never noticed". I don't want assumptions, I want to know from the actual modders or anybody who personally has looked at the stats to know whether or not they were changed. However, if they were not, feel free to recommend some strategies for bringing down heavily armored opponents because right now I'm at a loss.

The power armor wasn't actually our doing, the FNV devs already created those armors and gave them values, so the ACTUAL game devs felt that the power armor should be that powerful. As for the super mutants, they are the same as super mutants in NV, which means they are indeed much stronger than they were in fallout 3. If you search the forums for super mutant rebalance you SHOULD be able to find a plugin I made that brings them back down to about fallout3 level of difficulty. As for the power armor, all I can suggest is horde AP ammo to use against them and keep a stock of pulse grenades/mines. Pulse weapons GREATLY reduce the difficulty of power armored foes.

Oh, cool, I will go looking for the plugin.


In the meantime, I made my own mini-mod that set the power armor values down after digging through the G.E.C.K. They still aren't easy to bring down, but easier than before.

I use http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42970//? this weapon mod and the AK with API ( Armor Piercing Incendiary ) rounds work pretty well on the Enclave
