Using texture packs with TTW

Post by RinGuy » Tue Jul 09, 2013 2:57 am

So I'm not entirely sure if I screwed at some point, but it seems that texture packs don't work correctly.

Right now, I'm trying to use both NMC for NV and NMC for FO3, but the end result looks really odd.

I installed FO3's NMC first, then NV NMC, and now I end up getting the Mojaves red ground textures in the Capital Wasteland. Every other texture is low res vanilla, aside from the distant rock LOD's which have a red texture from NV NMC. Is there anything I've done wrong here? I've done the steps many people have said to do, and they say it works perfectly.

did you use NMM or FOMM to archive invalidate so the texture pack would work?

Right now I'm using NMM, with archive invalidation enabled.

EDIT: Alright reporting back, I disabled and re-abled Archive Invalidation and a ton of FO3 NMC textures are working now,so that's a plus. I still have red LOD rocks though.

I hate to be a pain, but is there any known fix for that?

When you say "red" do you mean the brownish color in the picture, or more like bright crimson?

More importantly, post a load order. If you are using any lighting mods (or any mods really, you'd be surprised), they can change the way the textures appear.

All that said, it looks like NV lod's. Odd.

Oh it most definitely is NV's LODs, and I'm not entirely sure what's causing it.

Right now I'm trying to find a good ENB preset that will look nice for both the Capital Wasteland and the Mojave.

I'm also using Nevada Skies URWL.

I would imagine that the landscape lod files that come with NV nmc's are what is making the landscape lod look like nv.

A question about NV's NMC

A question about NV's NMC textures, do you guys also use the patches that come with it?

Maybe that's the cause, because all I'm using right now are the two packs.

The rest are unrelated to LOD and ground textures.

luthien is suggesting you use one of the optional files "Washed out Wasteland" in whichever size you prefer. Have you done this?

I have no idea what patches come with nmc, and refuse to download 6gb to find out. As far as I understand it, nmc is just a texture replacer. Why is there a need for patches?

As I said previously, nmc comes with very orange-brown lod files, which are likely to be the cause for your very orange-brown lod's.
