light touch and travel light perks not working

Post by streichung » Sun Feb 01, 2015 1:37 pm

Hello,

I'm having an issue with the light touch and the travel light perks. There isn't any bonuses with any armor equiped : FO3 light armors, FNV light armors and moded light armors.

According to FNVEdit it's a comparaison with a non-autorized armor list (see screen capture).

I've tried to change the value of the comparaison from 1 to 0 and I verified the armor I tested are not included on the "NVTravelLightBadArmorList".

I don't get why it's not working. Thanks for explaining me.

edit : Ok, I didn't need YUP and TTW fixes together. I didn't mention it but I'm using the ttw_nvec_nvce_pn_mega_patch.

I've tried to launch the game without NVEC (and the additionnal patches) and YUP once and without NVEC, YUP and TTW fixes the second time.

There aren't still any perk bonuses while wearing light armor.

Anyway isn't the conflict overwritten by ttw fixes ? Do I have to setup the game again ?

The faq helps here a lot.

The faq helps here a lot. Your screencap shows it pretty clearly what are your troublemakers.

Lets sum it up for you:

Lets sum it up for you:

NVEC:

All patches that are made for NV are in a beginning stage. I still cant recommend using NVEC (thats why it is explicitly mentioned in the faq).

YUP:

French version? Wouldn't recommend mods that aren't in english for TTW (there are differences).

If you read the description of TTW fixes yup is obsolete because already included in TTW fixes. You are asking for troubles to install it anyways. (mentioned in the faq too btw. and because of the incompatibilities with TTW TTW fixes got made.)

I removed ttw fixes and yup.

Post by streichung » Mon Feb 02, 2015 9:37 pm

I removed ttw fixes and yup. I removed and added the perks to my character and it works fine.

I know using NVEC isn't recommanded but there are too much merged mods (I guess this is why it's not recommanded). Now I'm used to it I can't play without.

Thanks for your help.

As the FAQ says:

Post by Risewild » Tue Feb 03, 2015 1:12 am

The FAQ says:

DO NOT USE Mission Mojave Ultimate Edition (MMUE) or NVEC Bugfixes or Better Game Performance or other mods that are "bug fixes" or "unofficial patches" - they delete records from FalloutNV.esm that TTW needs

(...)

NVEC: there are TTW compatibility patches for different parts of NVEC here and here.  Just skip the 'bugfixes' patch.

I notice that there are

I notice that there are certain light armors, such as those you receive as rewards for turning in Pitt ingots, which do not benefit from the light touch perk. No clue why. I tried installing ttw fixes, but that did not cure the problem.

light touch and travel light

Post by Puppettron » Tue Mar 17, 2015 8:17 pm

light touch and travel light both use the same formlist to determine when the effects are had, which is NVTravelLightBadArmorList as an exclusion to the perk effect.

this means the game is checking if you're wearing something on that list, and if you're not then it applies the perk's effects.

this means, then, that if there's light armors that aren't getting the benefit, someone put them on the list specifically, indicating that they're actually medium or heavy armors.  considering how much work got put into arguing out basics of TTW back in the day, i'd say if vanilla pitt armors aren't showing up, then it was decided that they're not light armors.

however, for personal modding usage, you could easily make an .esp that removes them from the formlist.

Those Pitt light armors are

Those Pitt light armors are not on the list you mentioned. I checked that before posting. I was not sure that list included "bad armors" which would affect both travel light and light touch or just travel light based on the description.

both perks use the same list.

both perks use the same list.  if it's not working, then it's a problem with the perk, check your LO in edit

Duh. I checked the list again

Duh. I checked the list again and all of those armors are listed-like Leather Rebel, etc. No clue why since they are DT 8 or so, but they are. So I will either accept that or make an esp as you suggested. (Doubt I will add another esp just for that, however:)
