Honestly, I would just stop

Post by rbroab » Sat May 18, 2013 9:31 pm

Honestly, I would just stop with all of the mods. All of them. Any single one can be causing the problem. The best thing you can do is not install any mods until you're clear of the tutorial, regardless of what that mod is.

The beginning sequences of the game is pretty unstable as is. Each and every mod put on top of that just makes it worse.

If I were you, I would disable/uninstall all of your mods and then do a new game. Play through until you've finished the tutorial. After that, install ONE mod at a time, then test play to make sure you aren't getting a CTD. Most people like to just throw a bunch of their favorite mods onto TTW right from the start. This is strongly discouraged. TTW is slowly getting better, but it's still in alpha.

So in order for me to be able to help you more, which I would be happy to do, I'd need you to disable all mods and then tell me what happens.

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

I am not sure how it could

Post by plumjuice » Sat May 18, 2013 10:17 pm

I am not sure how it could have gotten misinterpreted but I will say it again (as rbroab has now done as well) install each mod one at a time and start the game to find out which one(s) are causing your crash.

Again, as rbroab has said, you have a large amount of mods.  There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself, but you don't seem to be well versed in modding basics, so perhaps you should consider easing back a bit.

You haven't said whether or not you have a merged and/or bashed patch.

Also:

-You have the blackwolf backpack and military backpack mod installed. Blackwolf is included in Military.

-You have 2 Darker Nights esps and I highly doubt that the mod functions correctly like that.

-You still have the Alternate Start mod installed, which is probably not helping.

-Military NV Backpacks - BumBagUseSlot1.esp and Military NV Backpacks - No Straps.esp are not compatible

-I do not know how CAGE scripts work, but they may have issues with TTW.

-You appear to be using NVInteriors. You should use TTW interiors for more areas to go.

-None of your ttw files are active, is this intentional? Regardless, STRobot-Core.esm is still loading before TTW, and you have the CaravanPack.esm load after it, both are not good.

EDIT: I would like some clarification. Can you actually reach the main menu? Or does it crash before you get to it? If it does, it is highly likely that you have a mod missing a master file. It is easy to check dependencies with wrye bash or FNVEdit. If it is crashing on loading your save game, it may be corrupted, and you should try loading an earlier save.

- No, I'm not using a patch.

-I know I have blackwolf backpack. I'm completely aware. I turned it off.

-The Darker Night Esps are off so it doesn't matter.

-Alternate Start is off. It isn't affecting anything.

- Exactly. Which is why it it says not to have both on at the same time..

-I'll try turning CAGE off.

-I was not aware the newest Interiors was out.

-Yes. I'm doing a vanilla playthrough. It states in the FAQ I can simply turn off TTW and all other FO3 things and run NV like Vanilla.

I started a new game after turning off all my mods. I got past the tutorial before you ask, and then one by one I started to turn on my mods. There was nothing wrong with anything until I got to my last batch of mods. Turned em' on, loaded up the game and everything seemed fine. After getting a couple of "mod has loaded" and a few other similar messages, everything seemed fine. Game CTD after after, like 2 seconds of everything seeming to be okay. So I went to turn off some of the mods I had turned on. Game still did the same thing, CTD'd. Turned off the last remaining mods I had turned on. Game still CTD'd. So, even after everything being completely fine, then turning on the remaining mods, then the game crashing after they loaded, then turning off some the mods that caused it, then it still crashed, then turning off the rest, the game STILL CRASHES after turning off the mods that caused the problem in the first place!!

The problem is, if I remember

Post by rbroab » Sat May 18, 2013 11:44 pm

The problem is, if I remember correctly, your save file was a modded one. So even though your mods are off, your save file is still looking for these mods and creating problems.

There are two things I can think of two do. One is simple. Disable all mods, do a new game, and see how it goes. If things function correctly, start adding one mod at a time. Once you add a mod, play around a bit. Wait, sleep, go inside then back out, fast travel. Just because the game loads doesn't mean you won't have conflicts. But if you can do all of those things, then go ahead and add another mod.

Your second option is much more painful. Clean the slate. Reinstall FNV (and FO3 if you plan on using TTW). Then start the game mod free. Finish the tutorial, and again, add one mod at a time.

Some mods won't work, some are trickier than others, and some just dont get along. Read all of the read-mes. Some will warn you of incompatibility and some will give you load order suggestion.

You know what..I think I'm

Post by GoAlone1 » Sun May 19, 2013 12:03 am

You know what..I think I'm going to try the second option. Start a clean slate. The difference is, I don't think I'm going to reinstall TTW. It's nothing against the modding team for the sheer amount of effort they've put into being able to go between The Capital Wasteland and the Mojave, it's just that I'm having a LOT of problems with my game ever since I installed TTW, and they've all been related to that mod. I 120% believe in this mod and all it stands for, It's just that I can't deal with all of these problems. I promise to redownload TTW once it gets into a more stable version. It is in Alpha, after all.

If I were you, I'd reinstall

Post by rbroab » Sun May 19, 2013 12:27 am

If I were you, I'd reinstall both FNV and FO3. Do not mod them. Then install TTW over it. The only people having problems like this were the ones who used too many mods and installed over modded games.

Everyone here is more than happy to help you get it running. And if you follow the instructions, you'll have TTW, FO3, and FNV; all of which you can play together or separately.

If you truly feel that TTW is the cause, then I am sorry and sorry it wasn't up to your expectations. I will respect your choice to wait until its no longer in alpha. The TTW community is growing and getting better because of it.

If you ever wish to jump back into the swing of things and want some help, I will do whatever I  can to get it playing the right way for you. And I'm sure they same could be said by the other members.

Thank you for respecting my decision. Please know I harbor no ill will towards this mod and it's developers, this just how I feel about it now. I hope this mod triumphs in it's endeavors. Thank you.
