NMM and installing the FOMod verison of 2.7.3

Post by BelGarion » Tue Jan 27, 2015 10:21 am

So I got the installer to crunch the files and put them into a temp directory then build me an FoMod, put FoMod in the mod folder for NMM, and tried to install it. It got to 100% then paused then puked up an error.

A problem occurred during install:

Object '/d168504d_3d47_4942_9e93_80776288e3a5/r+6tg6+ekgh6wpm9or8qox98_3.rem' has been disconnected or does not exist at the server.

No idea what that bunch of numbers and letters means but here is some of the requested items.

AMD Phenom II X6 1045T

8gb of DDR2

Windows 7 Pro X64 SP1

NMM V 0.53.2

FO:3 and FO:NV on a drive other than C: that is 2tb hdd with 440gb free.

FO:3 is the Steam GotY edition

FO:NV is the Steam edition with all DLCs purchased (before the Ultimate Edition was released.)

Umm, did I forget anything? If so, ask, I'll provide. Load order doesn't pertain since it isn't even installing so I *can* run TTW.

Deleted your double post, but

Deleted your double post, but it was the wrong one where someone had replied to it already. Sorry!

Also, check out what we say in the FAQ regarding this specific error in NMM.

Basically, try a different mod manager.

Use either of these two ...

All the below involves the Mod Organizer but that does not mean you can not use FOMM.   MO is like broadband and the other Mod Managers are like dial-up, once you go to MO (broadband), you never want to go back to anything else (dial-up).  In addition, as you can see, most of these user guides are currently maintained.

Lastly, there is a lot of discussion about MO here at TTW.

NMM is just bad, and most

NMM is just bad, and most people are moving away from it now, mod authors are also recommending to use FOMM or MO.

Tried MO, didn't much care for it myself. It didn't seem to be as easy as NMM and I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how to change games. The "Choose Your Game" pop up only popped up once then it kept defaulting back to the one I chose. Well, guess it's a drag / drop install then, it's how I installed TTW 2.2. :( Thanks all.

That's the whole thing about MO. It's not easy because it's quite a bit more powerful. You also need separate installs of MO for each game. You should be able to drop the MO folder in your NV dir and it load up in NV mode automatically.
