Calvert Manor - Invisible Walls

Post by BelGarion » Fri Feb 02, 2018 6:18 pm

Hello! I am at a point where I can't continue. I walked into Calvert Manor (Pointe Lookout) and all the interior walls are invisible except splots and spots. Very much like the old train station in early TTW history. How do I fix this? O.o Thanks!

1 - Don't use ENB.

2 - Set the enblocal.ini setting to fix the texture problem

3 - Actually fix the textures that cause the problem in the first place: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21633

4 - Use a full texture replacer like NMC: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/12056

1.) I use ENB for performance so FO NV can use the full 4gb (in theory, this is the infamous 970 4gb that had the lawsuit. >.< ) but can temporarily disable though it'll look ugly.

2.) What setting?

3.) Oh, sweet, that will make things easier.

4.) I do use NMC, the Medium pack, again, for performance. But that's NV textures, so presumably I'd need to get one for FO 3 too?

Though I'm gonna go try the 3rd option and see if that fixes things. >.< Thanks!

Edit: It overwrote a bunch of textures installed by NMC and, yay, fixed! Thank you.:D

1 - Yeah, if you have the system for it, ENB is sweet! Most folks never go back.

2 - FixTransparencyBugs=false, change that to true... unless you do 2 or 3. Note that it doesn't FIX the problem, it masks an instance of the problem. The real problem is bad textures.

3 - This fix is best for when you use vanilla textures because your video card isn't top of the line. I used it for quite some time until I got my recent card and started using NMC.

4 - Yes, TTW needs BOTH NMC versions - FO3 and FONV. I recommend installing the FO3 NMC first, then overwriting with FONV NMC. That worked great for me. There's a thread around here somewhere that details a "minimal" non-overlapping install of the two, but I never bothered since it's just drive space, which is dirt cheap these days. You might be more concerned if you had a "small" SSD drive and were concerned with not filling it with unnecessary files.
