I'm no computer technician, but with specs like that I'm wondering if it isn't some form of hardware failure. Try installing FNV and TTW to a new hard drive, if you have one, though that wouldn't explain why it works fine without TTW. Are you running a lot of programs or processes that could be hogging large amounts of RAM/CPU? What tweaks, exactly, did you make to the ini file.

Actually, the ini file is more important that testing a new hard drive.

Yeah, just recently read that .ini changes can mess things up. Tried running with the default ini files but no luck.

It's a really weird issue. I can't find any other references to NV/FO3 save 'freezing', only crashing, online.

I run a modded TTW (with medium graphics, no shadows, max view distance) at 20-30 fps on my poor laptop. If it is a hardware issue, it is likely to be driver based rather than spec based. If CASM is taking 20 seconds to save a completely new, umodded install, you have an issue not specific to the game.

Have you run a defrag recently?

Do you use any heavy handed (cpu wise) anti virus programs?

Are you running a virus scan whilst playing?

Do you have User Account Control settings messing with you write ability for your save folder?

Have you verified your NV cache via steam after install?

The problems only occur with TTW, not NV on its own, but I think you're right. Searching google, I've only found one other person reporting a similair problem for NV or FO3 (they got no useful responses.) What makes it even weirder is that I've ran TTW perfectly before.

I'm using Windows 7, and I moved my entire steam install folder to bypass all the protection crap (it's now in C:\Steam\steamapps, ect.) Saves go to C:\Users\User one\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves. Not having problems with anything else, so I doubt its a hardware issue, I keep my PC in pretty good shape. I'm thinking it might have something to do with Windows account protection stuff.

As a last ditch I'm gonna create a new account on this PC and install to there. I've had problems with windows before, and whilst it's a dirty fix, it has fixed stuff in the past.

I did have registry errors, they've been fixed, checked my GPU, ran memtest, everything seems to be in order.

Clean install on NV, FO3 and TTW, and, it was working. Slightly. Could quicksave and change cells without the freeze, and everything seemed well.

Deteriorated pretty quickly though. The freezes came back, and by the time I'd left the vault, it was all back to normal.

Is there a 2.0 version of TTW kicking about? I swear my problems on started with 2.2
