Try deselecting each .esp /

Post by thermador » Mon Mar 10, 2014 5:44 pm

Try deselecting each .esp / .esm file in your load order, starting at the bottom and working up.  After you deselect each one, load the game.  Find out which .esp and/or .esm is causing the no-menu glitch.

The other thing that causes the no-menu glitch is a bad .ini file, usually caused by a HUD mod of some type (like Darnified UI) leaving files/settings behind, or not having the files/settings it expects.  However, this shouldn't be a problem for you based on what you described (totally fresh installations.)

Hi guys, Big News

TTW works. The 2013 dated .esm works opposed to the 2008 dated esm. For those who are having trouble I would say disable your anti virus for the install, I know that mine has the nice habit of deleting or blocking programs without telling me (McAfee is good but annoying sometimes). The other advice keep trying the install it well eventually get it right.

Hi guys, I also have this no menu bug.

I run Windows 8.1 64bit, have 8gb Ram and an Intel i5-3210M processor, attached is my install log. NOTE: it says skipping fallout 3 and its DLCs because half way through Windows crapped out on me (since the update it has been nothing but trouble).

What is wierd is that it slowly get better with progessive installs i.e. the first time around everything had to be disabled to get the menu back, second time only TTW.esm had to be disabled to get the menu, so I am running another install hoping to get TTW going

I've just experienced this

Post by mcdeviant » Sat Apr 26, 2014 4:40 am

I've just experienced this issue, today. I found this thread looking for a fix. Someone mentioned setting resolution etc to defaults, and someone else mentioned verifying the files in Steam, so I verified then clicked Play via Steam, Options, and chose to revert to defaults. I then hit play, and had my menu back. I quit, and somehow the 4GB extender patch shortcut is now gone, so I remade that and opened it. It worked, and I am now in the game.

EDIT: I also reset the resolution to 1920x1080 via Steam/Play/Options

I can't discard this, I might need it some day

A tutorial for Greater

A tutorial for Greater troubleshooting and a possible method for manually fixing the issue in the link below (I recommend doing the troubleshooting and then try the re running installer part, failing that you are welcome to do the manual fix portion)
