Can't progress past playpen

Post by MattyMatt » Sun May 19, 2013 11:18 pm

So after a few mod conflicts I decided to uninstall the offending mods and start a new game in TTW, with CASM, readius mod and weapon mod menu, halfway house and Anchorage rewards plus (made for TTW) and one or two others that i haven't had issues with before. And now i find that after being born and Dad takes you to go see Amata the game CTDs. I've then deactivated all mods except the required files and started yet another game, and i freeze at exactly the same point.

I started with a fresh copy of NV, and copied over the files for TTW, then tried with and without the above mods and BOOM! same place it CTDs. Every time....

Please help, i was able to play without a single CTD before this...Attached is my loadorder

the vanilla FO3 V101 chargen

Post by dawe1313 » Mon May 20, 2013 2:58 am

the vanilla FO3 V101 chargen sequence is very touchy about mods, and even more so in TTW. it is highly recommended to not use any mods at all during that part

try starting a new game with ONLY FNV+DLC's, FO3+DLC's, & TTM active. if you make it to the b-day party, wait until you get your pip-boy, save & exit. activate MCM & CASM.

after leaving V101, but before entering the wasteland (in the cave after the vault door closes, but before you exit), activate the courier's stash dlc's & TTW_StashPackOptions.  TTW_StashPackOptions kicks in once you exit the cave.

after exiting the cave, activate your other mods.

except for Readius. it cause TTW to crash. Jax is looking into it, but for now he recommends using A Familiar Friend - The Pip-Boy 2500 - Handheld Pipboy

Dawe1313 is right. The best

Dawe1313 is right. The best option is to not use any mods until you're clear of vault 101.

that said, if disabling all mods and starting a new game doesn't fix it, you might need a new clean install of TTW. It's a huge pain, I know I've done it about 7 times since 2.0+ release. Fact is, some mods like to change files and resources. Simply disabling the mod doesn't change them back to what they were.

But try disabling all mods, new game, and seeing how it goes.  If you still get a CTD, I recommend a clean install of TTW. If you install clean TTW and STILL have CTD, we can help you and be glad to do so.

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

Okay, i will try the different pip boy mod and see what happens as well as activating said mods in the order you suggested dawe1313.

Thanks for replying to another help thread rbroab, in case you're interested it was NVEC i think that was causing issues even after i loaded a previous save in DC. Also, i literally deleted my whole data folder and re-downloaded all the missing files through steam so it was literally a brand new, fresh copy of FNV that i started from. No mods no nothing (well, until i copied over all the TTW files)
