What about a different currency?

Post by Matchu2100 » Sun Sep 17, 2017 2:22 am

So, I traveled to New Vegas for the first time in TTW, and it didn't hit me until now that the pre-war terminal that you buy your tain ticket from takes caps. I figure it would make more seance to use pre-war money, since it has no real use in game except for selling. You could make it cost only $100 since pre-war money is fairly rare, but I KNOW that amount is achievable because I'm an extreme collector of it (btw does anyone else do that?). I'm not sure if there's a reason for it being caps, and if there is, could someone tell me for curiosity's sake.

Ok, thanks! I actually had a problem occur while playing. It's unrelated to this topic, but for some reason all the scotch bottles (only the full ones, not the empty ones) have missing textures (i.e. big red diamond). Is this an issue with TTW, or did I do something wrong? I don't use any texture packs either, so I know that's not the issue...

Here it is, not all plugins are active. (I hope I did it right, never used pastebin before)

I couldn't tell you why. The scotch bottle hasn't been changed in TTW in a version that is available to the public. TTWFixes changes it also but you are not using it. You're not using a leaked version are you?

Other than that, I have no idea.

Light up and smoke those cigarettes I believe is not compatible with TTW, edits child races for no reason.

It does that because if they don't, many of the kids start smoking. The default allows kids to smoke, and some are actually set as smokers, so almost any smoking mod edits the kids and/or their races to prevent kids from smoking. I ran into that with an early simple smoking mod on FO3 years back.

The correct way to fix it is to remove the npcs from the smokers idle faction. Editing the races shouldn't be done as it breaks things.

Yeah. That's for sure. Sometimes you'll look into the guts of a mod and wonder why they did certain things the way they did. And in a few cases, it was clearly just an error that resulted in extra fields that should be cleaned. I've seen more than one mod that overrides the standard races for no reason whatsoever. When I decide I like a mod enough to make it a "standard" part of all my play-throughs, I'll check it over in xEdit to see if it needs any cleaning. Quite often, it does.

Ok, thanks for the help. I'll probably just get an alcohol texture replacer. BTW, I thinks that all smoking mods should make some kids some. I smoked when I was little, so I think that at least some kids that live in a place with little to no rules should smoke too.
