Hi to the TTW Community! And some questions regarding TTW

Post by Postal-Dude » Thu May 21, 2015 3:56 pm

Im new to the community and say hi!

Just decided to jump on. I already heard of TTW long time ago and found the whole concept amazing. The main reason why I didnt used it was because its still in Alpha and most mods didnt worked. Even its still in Alpha I have the feeling that the whole game works already as it should and even better as FO3 by default. Just say crashes, Pip Boy Stutter etc... And many mods have been ported now too, at least the most important and those which I like to use. But many mods are already obsolete for me because FO3 has features from the New Vegas Engine like Ironsights. I already prepared my games. Clean and Vanilla FO3 Goty and FNV Ultimate English Uncut Steam installs. Im installing TTW 2.9.4 with several mods and thats where I could need some help and advise.

Im probably going to use those mods:

Nevada Skies, EVE, WMX, Marts Mutant Mod, Darnified UI, Streetlights, Interiors Project, TTW Fixes

Thats should be it, read to many mods can break TTW anyway. Is there anything to note about those mods? Maybe anyone causing bugs or not recommend or I should use other, better? Im pretty much noob to TTW. I moded a lot in FO3 and New Vegas but no experience with TTW. Also, sometimes I read that they didnt had any description of being compactible with TTW 2.9. Does this mean they simply not work or they do? They are just not tested and officialy supported? The mods I didnt read of a 2.9 support were TTW Fixes, Marts Mutant Mod, Streetlights, Nevada Skies. Does all mods btw work in FO3 and the New Vegas world?

Thanks for answers and helping out a TTW noob. Greetz to all. yes

TTW Fixes is maintained by myself and Roy (both TTW team members) so it's usually updated for TTW compatibility any time it breaks. Streetlights has a recent update. MMM works fine with TTW. Mods only work in both wastelands if they are wasteland agnostic or if they aren't but are updated to take both wastelands into account. If you use NSkies you'll need the patch in the NSkies thread here because it's outdated and breaks a few things, the citadel for one. I'd recommend using TTW RWL over NSkies though, but that's my personal preference.

Wow, thanks for that good and long reply.

Yeah I know RWL and I like it. Only problem is that it doesnt introduce any sort of weather like rain, thunder which I personally love and without the game feels kinda unrealistic for me. Maybe I will just go with RWL, I will see.

What of my mods are not agnostic? Does MMM only work in the DC wasteland as in the original mod or does it also cover the mojave desert or should I use another for Mojave? Couldnt find any info regarding this, might be blind though. (Sorry then)

MMM is not wasteland agnostic

MMM is not wasteland agnostic, as it only applies to DC Project Nevada - Core and Rebalance is wasteland agnostic because they are gamewide changes. Equipment and Cyberware is not. Fortunately There are patches to make those apply to both wastelands.

Good to know that with MMM.

I think I will pass MMM but use the rest of my mods. I read that deadboy (creator of the MMM port) thinks about porting MMM maybe to the Mojave in the future. I guess I will wait until then or is there a MMM similar mod for this? Not that I know it or found it.

I mainly used MMM for more challenging game because of more monster spawns and stronger too. But TTW has Hardcore mode for both, FO3 world and New Vegas right? So I guess I will just go with Hardcore + Normal or High Difficulty. Thats usually fine for me.

Oh btw, I just noticed one more question while installing. Does TTW support FOSE in anyway? I talk about the New Vegas FOSE because its obviously its engine. Can I use mods like Fallout New Vegas Stutter remover or wont they work or cause problems or will they only work in the Mojave Wasteland world? Or is there maybe a TTW version? Same for NVAC.

Thanks in advance for answering.

NVSE is actually required for TTW, and mods like NVSR and NVAC work fine and are recommended.

Yes RWLE is quite nice, and I keep trying to convince Camo to stop playing GTAV and come finish it. I made some better rain sounds for him too. :D

Most mods for 2.4 and up should work, or just need some minor patches. There are some snafu's like Protectron's that need special attention, basically such mods will just make the game crash so it's easy to figure out which ones they are.

Also recommend FNV4GB updated to increase the available ram for the game.

Nearly all New Vegas mods should be compatible, and there are a few which are specially extended to work with TTW adding their content also to the DC wasteland. TJ already covered some of them like PN, there is also EVE and WMX, also check here & nexus for other TTW specific or extended mods.

All NVSE plugins (nvac, nvsr, enhanced camera etc, lutana, jipnvse) should work just dandy, and as mentioned, are recommended.
