Question regarding the installer and limited disk space

Post by Dood » Sat Jun 13, 2015 6:15 am

So to make it short, I have both Fallout games installed. The problem here is that I have little disk space left on my hard drive.

Does the TTW installer make a copy for the fomod AND another copy of Fallout 3's files after installing or just move them to New Vegas' data folder? I mean, if that's the case. Am I better off manually installing TTW by moving the FO3 files around instead?

Well if you are really short

Well if you are really short on HD space uninstall FO3 because it is not required once you do the TTW install. Only FONV is required since the TTW is a mod for it. Again FO3 isn't needed anymore so you can safely remove it. Also once you install the TTW FMod you can actually remove it from the HD as well. Only problem with that is if for some reason you need to reinstall TTW you will have to reinstall FO3 and create the FMOD from scratch. But if you really need the HD space then you might not have much of a choice.

Whenever TTW updates and makes changes to the data files (not just the esm) you'll need to reinstall FO3 again. I suggest you go ahead and expand your storage, hard drives are cheap.
