Thank You as well as a couple of questions

Post by Royhr » Thu Mar 05, 2015 7:24 pm

Ok first of all thanks to the whole TTW team that developed this awesome project as well also thanking anybody and everbody else who contributed anything no matter how small. It's really mind blowing how this whole creation has evolved.

Ok as far as the couple of questions I have right now. I'm in the process of getting TTW configured to the point where I have everything exactly the way I like it before I finally leave the vault. Slowly I'm getting there but the first thing I'd like to ask is that I turned on the grenade key in the PN settings and the icon shows up ok in hud. The problem is I'm not to keen as far as where it's located. Is there a way to move or change it's location? Is there maybe an xml or something that I can edit? I use aHud and I'm able to adjust all of the other hud items but of course it doesn't allow for the grenade icon.

The other thing I wanted to ask about is that when you toggle to and from sneak mode you get a pretty annoying sound or at least it's annoying to me. Is there a way to turn that off? I know you can turn it off using the games setting menu in the audio options but that would disable all of the effects. I'd really just like to get rid of that one sound at least for now.

Also I'm not very technical as far as this stuff goes so believe me when I say it would be much appreciated that any suggestions are sort of dummied down for my sake. :)

Are you talking about the sound of your character crouching?

No I don't think it is then

No I don't think it is then again maybe it is the sound generated by crouching and then standing back up.... . But it sure seems like a game effects sound associated to doing the sneak function. Actually I think there are two different sounds. One when you go into sneak mode and another when you come out. Or at least from I can remember they sounded a little different. Anyway I never ever remember hearing it when playing FO3 or FONV...

We haven't done anything that

We haven't done anything that should change that. As far as the grenade hotkey icon you'd have to look through PN's xml files to find the answer.

Ok the issue with the effects

Post by Royhr » Thu Mar 05, 2015 10:10 pm

Ok the issue with the effects sound I think I've isolated and I think maybe it could be a small bug???

If you go to the PN Core menu in MCM and select bullet time you will then have the sound effect I'm talking about when you crouch and uncrouch. Deselect the bullet time option and the sound effect goes away. Now I'm not sure but I would think that bullet time would not have anything to do with crouching or maybe it does. I never use bullet time so I have no idea. Anyway since not having bullet time selected isn't an issue for me I'm good now ridding myself of that sound effect.

Ok I'll have to try looking thru the PN xlm files to see if there is anything. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you by any chance have

Do you by any chance have crouch bound to a key that's not Left-Ctrl? Like say, C? If so, that's also the key that activates PN bullet time, so there's a control conflict.

Ok that's it because I do use

Ok that's it because I do use C for my crouch bind key..... Left Control just never was a good option for me.... C was much easier...

I should have figured this

Post by Royhr » Fri Mar 06, 2015 1:06 am

I should have figured this out as being a hot key issue but just had a brain fart instead.....

Ok after mucking around trying to figure this out by installing and uninstalling stuff I really didn't need to the game all of a sudden will not start now. Get's to the final boot screen but right as it starts to display I get the stop working message. Tried all of the normal stuff. FNVEdit ran showing no issues. Ran BOSS so my load order checked out ok. I then disabled all of the mods without any luck. I then uninstalled everything right down to where it was just FONV with nothing else loaded and still got the same thing. So I just said screw it and completely uninstalled everything and will just rebuild from scratch again.

Also when I was running for the short time I did whenever I quit the game I would always get the error that the game stopped working. Is that normal for TTW? I know I would get that with FO3 after playing for awhile and remember reading it had something to do with corrupted saves or something. Don't remember ever having that issue with FONV..... How do you guys actually quit the game when you quit? Do you go thru the game menu or force quit in another way?
