Fallout 3 & NV climate differentiation

Post by adf00 » Sun Dec 07, 2014 3:14 pm

Hi all, I'm a recent TTW convert - I pumped a ton of hours into the 360 versions of FO3 & NV, though I've recently been switching over to my PC as my primary gaming platform and figured I'd delve into the modding FO3 & NV after picking up the GOTY/Ultimate editions of both in the recent Steam sale. And I'm loving it!

I've been playing around with various combinations of mods for general climate & weather control, and settled on Nevada Skies TTW overall. I know I shouldn't be combining mods, though I tried experimenting with Fellout & Enhanced Weather and... yeah, it was a mess. So I stuck with Nevada Skies.

My problem is that the general feel of Nevada Skies lends itself much more strongly to New Vegas than the DC Wasteland, so I was wondering if anyone had any success in using various mods to achieve one distinct atmosphere in DC, while using Nevada Skies only in NV? Is such a thing even possible? I love the feel of Project Reality in DC, but love Nevada Skies in NV.

Currently the best you're going to get for weather is RWL. I haven't used the newest TTW version but the preview builds didn't have alot of variation based on wasteland. Word of advice though: Mixing and matching weather mods will either create overrides you don't want or possibly prevent one or both from working at all.

My project Dash is on Kickstarter!

Keep in mind that RWL, excluding lighting, is a settle weather mod.  Just enough weather to stage the mood but nothing too strong.  The good things about RWL is low resource requirements which means more for the game and the lighting is awesome!  So it is give and take, and personal tastes.

I'll throw in for RWL too - best there is. Makes the game clean, clear and just looks great. I don't even use any other graphics mods any more. The TTW version hosted on here works perfectly.
