When should i go to the Mojave

Im currently level 5 using talon combat armour and running a unarmed/small guns character.When should i go the Mojave? Because i don't want to go when Im pretty op because that will sort off put me off the quests a little bit. So for anyone who has played TTW please give me some advice please, thanks :D

when you are either high level/stealthy/or clever enough to make it to the train station or use Walrus' Caravan mod.

There's one boss level creature that's hard to avoid. I recommend bringing some serious DT penetrating ammo.

Or maybe pick up some Stealth boy to reach the station "incognito". ;)


I had a surprise the first time i tried to reach it with Mart Mutant Mod... I didn't make it thought until level 8... Now i always have 1 or 2 stealth boy and 5 or 6 hand grenades with me :)

I believe I made it at level 6 or 7 with only a few reloads. I had shotgun surgeon and a lever action shotgun with slugs to tear through the Super Mutants. No grenades, but that would have been awesome.

I made it to the station at level 5. Grant it I have put all my points into guns, and had Jericho who was wearing power armor I stole from an outcast. It was tough. And I died allot with that troll incernator guy camping the the door. But after I used the GNR fatman and spammed stimpacks he was down. Also, who jury rigs the psu? Its a short walk to the stuff for it.

I have my own damage increasing mod in addition to PN rebalance and I did it at level 6-7 (I leveled up in there). My game's gunplay ended up being more player skill vs stat skill, but I wouldn't have had the equipment/ammo necessary to break through the super mutants. I'd say in a vanilla-ish game, try it out at level 8 if you are a ranged character, and level 12 if you melee.
