Comparing a Super Volcano

Post by JaxFirehart » Fri Oct 31, 2014 6:18 pm

Comparing a Super Volcano eruption to a World War is like comparing a Antimateriel Rifle to a BB Gun

Not really, you are comparing

Not really, you are comparing WWII to a Super Volcano Eruption.  Now compare WWIII varying damage output to a Super Volcano Eruption.  It could be under, equal, or over.

But of course, if we continue to discuss this comparison, we will derail this thread ... LOL

A supervolcano level

Post by JaxFirehart » Fri Oct 31, 2014 8:37 pm

A supervolcano level explosion is about 20000 megatons. According to the Fallout manual, post-divergence civilizations moved toward neutron style bombs with low yield and high fallout, 200 - 750 kilotons. We'll assume 750 kilotons. Nearly 27,000 nukes would be required to equal a supervolcano explosion. I guess its possible, your guess is as good as mine in this case.

sorry sesom, i did get all my info from wikipedia.  my original point was that MS made the final decision on india, not beth, though, so there's that.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

No need to be sorry. A lot of myths (including the wikis) are floating around about Fallout 3. That's why I sometimes share what I remember from forum talks with Bethesda. The good times as Community Managers where around and actually answered questions, today all this seems like a long gone dream .

Beth had already canceled the PC release in India at that point. They say that it was never planned, but leaked data from early development indicates otherwise.
