Hi, I'm here to play and play test TTW. Not yet anyway, I'm wrapping up my New Vegas game, and then I will do a total conversion. I'm here to say hello and also ask how much I can be useful in this:


I'm probably not going to be playing the Vegas parts at all. I like the story I've built in Vegas, I just want a worthy counterpart in Fallout 3. The reason I am stoked about this project is that New Vegas is simply so much better in terms of gameplay options. Also, I play heavily modded games, so in order to get the graphics right, I'm going to have to do a whole bunch of graphic overrides. At a fundamental level, I play with an ungodly number of green mods, and finally gotten the DC area to look right: a verdant, overgrown green swamp.  It makes fighting ants a pain in the ass, but it's well worth it. My interest largely stems around using NV assets in the DC area as appropriate.


That said, how can I be of service in this? When I do this, I'm more than willing to test mods and playtest and such. If there is any mods that add in real world animals (wolves, coyotes to the East Coast, horses, real cows, birds and fish) it would be awesome. Less mutant critters (not all gone) and more real world fauna.

Can't say I can think of any mods that apply. But, that is an awesome idea for a playstyle. Do you have any screenshots?

I don't have any screenshots now. Mind you I didn't make these mods, I simply relentlessly hunted them down and added them together ad hoc. Being that I'm on a library computer, here's the list from memory:


Badass Wasteland Reclamation Project


Clear Water, Little Radioactivity


Summer


Project Reality (sky)


Greener Citadel


KTS Recovering Wasteland- Assets


Bond's Greener Wasteland


Maybe with a more tress and tall grass mod, though I know Summer adds LOTS of very tall grass. It's wonderful! I can even recommend Project Reality over Fellout because of the inbuilt weather system and the destaturated look adds a somber element. I find the Dead Earth thing to be bullshit, and actually Lore against Lore, but Fellout makes things bright and almost cheerful with the BA Wasteland. Project Reality gives the emotional kick that this is still a very lethal Civilization's Requiem, but it is only a requiem for our age, the world is simply moving on one minute at a time.


I find it as least as haunting as the vanilla, but far more beautiful.
