i downloaded a mod for new vegas that allows you to continue the game after you beat it. since in vanilla, you can't..
is this mod necessary or is this a function already provided by TTW?
(yes, i know if i beat fo3 i can continue due to the dlc's/goty, this is for the fnv side of things)
It is not provided for FNV and will not be provided in the foreseeable future. It should be safe to use.
"not provided" as in it is not a feature built-in to TTW and it won't be? just to clarify

Interesting thing that happened to me though... like everyone else, I started in Vault 101, played through the main quest up to the end of "Waters of Life." Due to a power armor rescale mod I'm using, the Enclave were WAY too powerful for me to take on, so I rp'd that my guy felt defeated and decided not to assist the Brotherhood in resisting them. After all, Project Purity wouldn't work without the GECK, the Enclave obviously didn't have one, so what was the point? So, from there, my char high tailed it for parts unknown and went to Vegas.
In NV, I played through everything, boosting my character up so he could be a match for the Enclave. I sided with NCR at the Dam and recruited the West Coast Enclave remnants to help out. Then a funny thing happened... after I defeated Lanius alongside Cannibal Johnson, Johnson kept right on following me after I finished speaking with Gen Oliver!
He followed me back to DC... stayed with me through Vault 87... didn't lift a finger to help when the Enclave ambushed me (this should have clued me into his true loyalties!)... but then helped me fight my way out of Raven Rock. Then, during take it back, right at the bridge, he decided that enough was enough and turned on the Lyons Pride. He grabbed a LAER (I was using 1.3) and slaughtered every last one of them. After he KOd Sarah Lyons, I had to put him down.

...why not get the new version? It won't break new games or anything.
Funny how fallout's bugs end up creating new lore :p
So I saw CAGE on Nexus for continuing the game after the NV ending. Assuming that one works with TTW that takes care of the scenario where you want to win the NV game and keep playing and/or move on to the main quest in DC. Is there a Fallout 3 version that works with TTW? I don't forsee myself needing one for awhile but will eventually want something.
